beginnings

A couple of years ago I read Barbara Kingsolver’s animal, vegetable, miracle. We had been gardening for years, and getting steadily better at it. And with success comes excess, and with the help of friends and library books and the internet I started preserving our harvests and using them throughout the year. And then, one August, I read this book, and what I was doing made a lot more sense, and became more important to me.

So here I am, so appreciating all the inspiration of people who have been doing this longer and better than me, and hoping I can add a little and join in the fun.
